You have to be creative when you're raising kids in Arizona in a home with no pool and no grass.  We go white trash and play in the sprinkler in the drive way.

The other day Cam picked up one of the crutches I was using last week and turned it into a microphone.  He put on quite a show!

Why is Everything About You?

I spent most of today catching up on housework and playing with the kids.  Like most days I was exhausted by the early afternoon at which point Addison asked if we could go out to ice cream after dinner.  I said no and explained to her that David and I would be too tired at the end of the day but we could go this weekend.  She looked at me and said, "Why does everything have to be about you?"  Help me.

Yesterday my mom and I took the kids to the Diamondbacks game.

Addie's Restaurant

I love how creative Addie is.  It fascinates me to see how her mind works.  The other day she set up her own restaurant with her dolls ...

Wondering why she has earmuffs around her neck?  So was I.  Apparently her neck was cold and she couldn't reach her scarf.

She used buttons for plates and cheerios for dinner.  And any 'fancy' restaurant needs table centerpieces, the strawberry.  This table Addie made with my dad about a year ago.  She had drawn up blueprints for the project and sent my dad to the hardware store to get the supplies.

She had Cam string the beads hanging from the princess castle to make it even 'fancier'.

Week Three

Cam had a hard time falling asleep tonight.  When he was finally quiet in his room I went to peek on him and this is what I found.

Apparently he needed superhero powers to get to sleep ... he'd put on his spider man costume and a cape.  And yes, he's still sleeping on the floor.

Hair Cut

The other day I took the kids to get their hair cut.  While I was watching Addie sitting so patiently I flashed back to her first haircut.  Funny now, not so much so at the time.

First Day of School

Today was Addie's first day in the 4 year old classroom and Cam's first day of preschool.  He was SO excited.  Addie was taking forever to get ready so Cam put on his backpack, came up to me and said, "Mom put me in the car and take me to my teacher".  I could have died.  Hopefully the enthusiasm will last all year!
